What do I need to do with my certificate of completion?

If you chose “Ticket Dismissal” as your reason for taking the course, then the two-part certificate of completion you will receive contains an upper portion labeled “COURT” a lower portion labeled “INSURANCE.” The “COURT” portion should be presented to the court via their instructions and prior to their appointed deadline. The “INSURANCE” portion can be given to your insurance company if they offer auto insurance discounts for completing a defensive driving course.

NOTE: If you selected “Insurance Reduction” as your reason for taking the course, you will receive a single insurance-only certificate for presentation to your insurance provider that cannot be used for a ticket.

Can the course be taken on mobile devices?

Yes, this course is completely mobile device friendly (tablets and smartphones).  You can login on any device as long as it has a connection to the internet and fully functioning web browser.

Is this course approved for an insurance discount benefit in the state of Texas?

Yes, this course is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and the Texas State Board of Insurance for automobile insurance discount purposes.  Not all insurance companies offer driving safety course discounts, so please contact your company to verify their discount program prior to registration.  Most companies that offer the discount give a 3-year, 10% insurance discount.  In order to receive this discount, you will need to present a copy of your certificate to your insurance company or agent.

What should I do if my employer has directed me to complete a defensive driving course?

Simply choose the “Business or Safety Training” option when choosing why you are taking the course during the online course registration process.   You will receive a insurance/ business certificate upon course completion that you can then turn in to your safety manager or the appropriate representative for credit.

How long is the course?

All state approved driving safety courses (a.k.a defensive driving courses) must be 6 hours in length.  Remember that the benefit of choosing our online course delivery option is that  you can log in and out as needed so you can break those six hours up however your schedule allows.

How do I pay for the course?

To begin the course immediately, you may pay online with a credit / debit card payment.  Any other payment method will require that we receive and process your payment before you can be given access to the course.

How do I know if my court recognizes this internet course?

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has approved and licensed our course (License #CP-090 ), and our website (C-1995). This approval verifies that our course meets all minimum standards and thus is acceptable by every court in the state of Texas for eligible traffic violations.

What if I decide to quit the course and / or would like to request a refund?

Sugar Land, Texas 77478

How much does the course cost?

The course price is $25, which is the lowest price allowed by Texas law. There is no reason to shop around. You won’t find a lower priced course for ticket dismissal in Texas.  This price includes emailed delivery of your certificate.

How do I move from one page to another in the course?

There are six units in the course and you will begin the course in Unit 1 Page 1.  Each page in the course contains a timer that tells you how much time you have to spend on that page before you can move to the next page.  The length of each page timer is dependent on the amount of material on the page.  Once you are finished with a page and the timer has expired you can proceed to the next page.  Once you complete all the pages in a unit you will be required to pass a short multiple choice quiz before moving to the next unit.

Is there a final exam?

No.  Instead of a final exam our course has a short multiple choice quiz at the conclusion of each unit (6 total units).   You get up to 3 attempts to score 70% or higher on each quiz, and have the option to go back and review the unit material before each attempt if needed.

Does the course have to be completed in one sitting?

No. Using the unique login code given during the course registration, you have the ability to log in and out of the course at your leisure from any device with Internet access. The course automatically saves your progress and knows the furthest point that you have reached. If you log out and come back later you can click on the furthest unit you left off on and the course will return you to the last page you were working on. Your login code is good for 180 days, but please keep your court deadline in mind if you are taking the course for a traffic ticket.

What can I do if I have a problem with the video?

Each video page inside the course has troubleshooting option that will provide you with a step by step guide to resolve most issues.  If you have video problems after consulting the guide, please contact customer support at 1-800-558-9887.

How do I obtain an instructor’s signature on the form that I received from the court?

This requirement is not necessary for online courses since there is not an instructor teaching the course live. Simply notify the court that you completed the course online, making the instructor signature unattainable. Should the court have any questions about your course completion, request that they call our certificate processing office at 1-800-558-9887.
