- Save Money on Auto Insurance Premiums – It is a little know fact that many Texas drivers have the option to take a DADAP course and turn in the completion certificate to their insurance company or agent to receive an auto insurance premium discount. We highly recommended that you contact your agent to verify the amount of the discount prior to course registration. In addition to the DADAP course, Texas drivers can also complete a state-approved defensive driving course for an additional discount. Some drivers can save up to 15% by taking both courses. (Discounts and participation may vary with different insurance companies.)
- TEA Continuing Education – Driver Education instructors that are licensed with the Texas Education Agency are required to complete a continuing education course of some kind each year prior to renewal. The DADAP online course is an acceptable course and can be taken once every three years to meet this continuing education requirement. If you are a licensed DADAP classroom course instructor, unfortunately, you are not eligible to receive the credit from the online DADAP course.
